AGM 2026

Wednesday 22nd April 2026 at 8.00pm

at The Compton Club, Spiceall, Compton, Surrey GU3 1JQ

Once again the Compton Club opened up specially for us on Wednesday 22nd April. Worthwhile as it turns out, since around 60 members and families turned up.

Ian George, our Chairman, welcomed everyone.

Our Hon. Treasurer Robert Carey had another encouraging financial report for us, covering the past year.

In the absence of a current Club Secretary, the Chairman, along with the President, Laurie Richards, worked through the substantial list of sporting and other events that had taken place since April 2025, with some additions from Gordon Ayshford on the road riding side.

Laurie Richards then paid tribute to a number of Witley past members who had passed away during the past year: Peter Brewer, John Capell, and Marc Combstock, plus John Compton who had died in 2024.

The Chairman then gave an overview of forthcoming fixtures and some other items including making membership easier for non-riding members.

The election of officers again had fairly minor changes in the Committee, though Ross Kerr had stood down, and
there were new additions in the form of Neil Foster, Mikey Benwell and Ben Alldred.

Ian gave a brief report on the fantastic performance by our 10 ISDE riders in Italy 2025, and the huge support given by other members.

Following this, Laurie presented their medals to 8 of the 9 Witley medallists.

Finally, Laurie presented the 2025 Silver Badge to Adam Pearson, marking his commitment and hard work over the past few years.

The meeting closed at 9.30pm.

Many members stayed on for a chat and another excellent spread of refreshments by Rebecca Brockman and Jo Ayshford.

Many thanks to all the Members who joined us for the Meeting. The Committee really appreciate your support and enthusiam.

Official Minutes will be posted here in due course.

AGM 2023

Thursday 6th April 2023 at 8.00pm

Our AGM has been held with just sufficient members for a quorum.

The Chairman gave a brief report on another successful year of events and other activities, while the Treasurer was able to confirm that in general all was well with the financial affairs of the Club.

The President was pleased to present the Silver Badge for 2022 to Ian Hayward (already a Gold Badge holder) for his enthusiastic service at Club events over decades, but most particularly in the last few years. A very experience trials rider, Ian has taken part in enduro and other off-road disciplines, and is also a keen road rider with a great interest in vintage Sunbeams.

Marking more competition success for the Club, Guy Chandler and Simon Beken were also presented with their FIM ISDE Silver Medals for their fine performances on behalf of Witley in the 2022 ISDE in France.

You can meet the new Committee here...

AGM 2022

At the 2022 Witley and District MCC AGM, outgoing Vice Chairman Dave Mair was pleased to award the coveted ‘Silver Badge’ to Aaron Smith.

Born into our Club, Aaron has marshalled, taught, and officiated at many Witley MCC events over the years. In particular, he’s been Clerk of the Course for a number of Boxing Day Enduros at Four Marks and Ashdown Farm, together with an edition of the Witley Classic at Warren Heath.

Starting in schoolboy trials, his riding experience grew to see him represent our club at the International Six Day Enduro, and European Enduro Championship Rounds as part of the ACU Under-23 squad.

The Silver Badge has been awarded once a year since the 1930s to a club member who has served the club exceptionally.
